Galo’s Audio History
Galo Rivera's audio journey started in 1972. At that time, he was the guitar player for a church band/group called The C.E.L.P.S from Paterson, New Jersey.
That band bought a make and model Kustom PA system, and he was mesmerized by all the buttons on it. The band allowed him to mess with the gear, while working with it, he started getting loud feedback. It drove him crazy, he asked himself why and what could have caused such problems, and he needed to figure it out.
At that time, there wasn't much information available as there is today with the internet. He bought a few books and started reading them. Not knowing the English language well, it became difficult for him to understand what he was reading, but that never stopped him. He kept struggling with the audio problems and learning as he went. To him, that was frustrating, challenging, and fun all at the same time.
In 1976, he decided to go to audio school and enrolled in the Recording Institute of America in New York City. That’s what did it for him; he became fascinated with audio, and that is how Galo’s audio career started.
Since that time, he has never stopped learning and sharing his knowledge. Galo has worked doing live sound audio engineering work for all genres of music and has also worked thousands of hours doing recording sessions in many recording studios, including his own.
Since he started his audio venture in church, he has a special love for helping churches reach their audio needs by training and consulting them.
